Transport

By Air

Visitors arriving in Cyprus by air arrive through two International airports situated in Paphos and Larnaca at opposite ends of the island. There are over thirty scheduled flights to the Island, linking it to most major cities in Europe, Africa and Asia.

For Brits, driving in Cyprus is easy, as it is on the left hand side of the road. To drive you must have a valid from your country or an International valid Driver's License. There has been a great deal of investment in the road infrastructure, with a lot of work upgrading motorways and a lot more in the pipeline. Motorways are equivalent to good ‘A’ roads in the UK, and road surface work is not as good as you would find in the UK and Germany. Distances between towns are relatively short. There are no railway networks.

Port

Sea-bourne traffic is served in Cyprus by a modern, integrated national port system.

* the new multipurpose ports of Limassol and Larnaca
* the new industrial port of Vassiliko
* the three specialized oil terminals at Larnaca, Dhekelia and Moni
