Golf Courses
There are three major golf courses in the Paphos region – Aphrodite Hills , Secret Valley Golf Club and Tsada Golf Club. There are a further 10 golf courses planned for Cyprus with six of them in the Paphos region including a PGA international standard course on the outskirts of Paphos. The new golf courses will be first rate. For instance, take the first one to be ready, at Tersefanou near Larnaca. Adjacent to the 6000 square metre golf course there will be a hotel, club house, spa, several restaurants and bars, a business centre, equestrian facilities, a retail shopping centre, entertainment area as well as residential homes - a number of villas, and over 1,000 apartments Aphrodite Hills Golf ClubThe Aphrodite Hills complex, including the stunning course, is the flagship
for leisure and luxury living. This golf club is located just 20km east of
Paphos and only 2 minutes off the Paphos-Limassol motorway. It is
spectacularly situated on plateaux at an altitude of 300m above sea level,
overlooking the legendary birthplace of Aphrodite and with marvellous
Mediterranean sea views Located 18km east of Paphos near Petra tou Romiou, the legendary birthplace
of Aphrodite, the Goddess of love, this golf club is set in a scenic valley
with landscaped gardens and breathtaking natural rock formations.
The Secret Valley golf resort is currently undergoing a huge redevelopment
programme with a further 2 courses (including a championship course) being
added. When finished, this resort will rival La Manga in Spain.
An 18 hole golf course situated on the northern outskirts of Paphos, at an
altitude of 550 metres above sea level, Tsada Golf Club is set in the
grounds of a 12th century monastery. The club lies in a valley near Tsada
village and was designed by Donald Steel. There is a major focus on the development of marinas in the region with several marinas in the planning stage, including the new state of the art marina planned for the Coral Bay area. This marina will be the biggest in Cyprus and one of the largest in the Middle East, servicing more than one thousand yachts and designed to attract the more affluent to Paphos. |
