Cyprus, Island in the sun

Cyprus! A beautiful, welcoming island nestled at the eastern end of the Mediterranean. It lies at the ancient crossroads where Europe, Asia and Africa. The whole island has a total area of 9,250 sq km and 650 km of coastline.

Cyprus gives you one of the most agreeable climates in Europe, with over 340 days of brilliant sunshine and a lovely Mediterranean climate. Summers are warm and dry. You can expect 11.5 hours a day of sunshine during the summer months. Autumn and Spring are pleasant, the winter is mildly

wet, and it is cut short by the promise of Spring. Even during the cooler months of December and January the average is 6.5 hours of sunshine every day. The annual mean temperature is 20°C.

And there is snow! It falls in areas over 1000m from December to March. So the high slopes of the Troodos mountains offer good skiing for about six weeks a year. So you can be skiing on virgin snow in the morning, and one and a half hours later be sunbathing on the beach!
